“This eco-friendly luxury hotel has a privileged location in the heart of the Basque Country. The custom-designed guestrooms draw on the landscape for inspiration, using a soft palette of natural hues and emphasizing natural light. Dine at the hotel's innovative and organic Misura restaurant.”

Hotel review

This forward-thinking, eco-conscious hotel is a breath of fresh air in the Basque Country. Based on the Scandanavian Passivhaus model, the hotel incorporates sustainability into every aspect of the experience - from the temperature-controlled guestrooms to the hotel's waste flow reduction filters - in concert with cutting edge design and luxury style. The result is a perfect blend of wellness and sustainability, a nature retreat tucked away in a verdant forest which feels contemporary without being cold, welcoming but not fussy. Guestrooms embrace an organic approach to interior design, focusing on maximising natural light and complementing the landscape through a neutral palette. Clever humidity and carbon dioxide controls create a tailor-made ambience in all the suites. The hotel offers two dining options; the first - gourmet, vegetarian restaurant Misura - focuses on high-quality raw ingredients, converting them into haute-cuisine for seasoned health food appreciators. For breakfast, snacks and more relaxed dinner options try the Tilia deli, which similarly highlights locally sourced and natural ingredients and which can be enjoyed on a terrace overlooking the forest. The focus on wellness extends to a varied programme of activities at the hotel for guests, from spinning to yoga and personal training. Complete the experience with a treatment at the holistic spa, one of the best in San Sebastián.

Arima Hotel

This 69-room family-run hotel is a daring new, eco-friendly option on the outskirts of San Sebastián. With a Passivhaus qualification and veggie-based fine dining option Misura, it's the city's greenest lodging by far. A spectacular seasonal rooftop pool and stylish bedrooms are bonus creature comforts.
