“A truly remarkable eco-resort nestled amongst lush hills, over looking the Ayung River. The beautifully restored old tribal houses, ranging from rustic to chic, mix traditional Javanese furnishings with eclectic pieces from around the world. An enchanting paradise, that's almost impossible to leave!”

Hotel review

Peaceful and refreshing, Bambu Indah captures the essence of central Bali. The staff will welcome you with big smiles and delight in serving you lovingly prepared meals. Just 15 minutes away from Ubud it feels like another world. Stay in one of seven lovingly restored antique tribal houses with large verandahs and open-air bathrooms. As dusk draws near, listen to a concert of frogs and crickets surrounded by the pulsing glow of fireflies. Wake up to the sound of cocks crowing, the smell of dew-covered grass and the sight of ducks waddling through the lush paddy fields.

Bambu Indah

" This is the consummate south-east Asian eco-retreat; small, scenic, and almost entirely sustainable. On arrival, the first thing you’ll notice is the stress-melting view of a lime, moss, and parakeet-green valley veiled in golden sunshine and dotted with coolie-wearing rice farmers."

"Eco-luxe. Stone paths lead from the bamboo-encased reception area through rice paddies at various stages of growth and past a soaring black bamboo multipurpose structure reminiscent of an ancient ship."

"The four hand-carved wooden houses transported from Java, each more than 100 years old, are set amid rice fields on the Sayan Ridge, an ethereal Eden near Ubud."
