Map & Location

See what they say

Why do people love staying in your hotel? Cahernane House Hotel is beautifully situated on a private estate on the edge of Killarney National Park, and just ten minutes' walk from Killarney town centre. Constructed in 1877 and formerly home to the Herbert Family. Cahernane House Hotel exudes a sense of relaxation and peacefulness where guests can retreat from the hectic pace of life into a cocoon of calmness and serenity. The only sounds you may hear are the cows bellowing, the lambs bleating or the birds singing. What is there to do in the area? County Kerry is awash with lakes, mountains and scenic locations. Killarney is at the centre of this – some highlights that you cant miss are Muckross House & Gardens, Torc Waterfall, Gap of Dunloe, Killarney House, Molls Gap and Ladies View. What kind of breakfast do you offer? Full Irish breakfast is included in all our rates. Buffet service for the continental breakfast and hot items come directly from the kitchen. Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We could make recommendations but the best dining experience is right at the Cahernane. Dinner is served each evening in The Herbert Restaurant. Recently awarded 2 AA Rosettes in recognition of culinary excellence. Which are your most popular room types, and why? The Manor House Superior and Signature Rooms are located in the main house which our guests tend to love as they experience the original features – high ceilings, amazing views and a sense of history. The Garden Wing underwent a major refurbishment in early 2018 – these are spacious rooms, many with balconies and patios to the gardens. What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ? We have a double couch bed in our Superior Rooms and Junior Suites. Children under 4 are complimentary, 5 – 12 at €35 per child per night and over 13’s at the adult rate. We also have cots for younger children. What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? There is something special about staying in a Manor house, steeped in history. Killarney is one of the most picturesque, beautiful places in Ireland and is brimming with heritage. Cahernane is the only Manor House which is now a hotel in the Killarney region so it is very unique.
