“Small chic city hideaway opposite the Piazza del Popolo in the heart of Rome. Neutral tones, with silk fabrics, hardwood floors, chic modern art and marble bathrooms. Personalised service from owners Giuseppe and Charlotte. Intimate and luxurious boutique hotel in a great location.”

Hotel review

Casa Montani is managed by the owners Giuseppe and Charlotte who have put their heart and soul into every detail, choosing furniture and fabrics from the best Italian and French brands and commissioning furniture by local craftsmen. Overlooking the Porta del Popolo, Casa Montani is a luxurious five-bedroom oasis in the Eternal City. The property is elegantly decorated in soft neutral tones, with silk fabrics, luxury throws, hardwood floors and modern artwork adding a splash of colour. The chic tiled and marble en-suite bathrooms boast gorgeous Frette towels and large overhead showers.

A concierge, sometimes Giuseppe himself, is on hand all day to offer advice and take your order for a generous continental breakfast which is delivered to your room. The Spanish Steps are just a few minutes walk away. A further ten minute stroll and you'll find the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona and the Vatican. There's a metro stop close by (Flaminio-Piazza del Popolo, line A), as well as some of the main bus stops.

In addition, Casa Montani has opened a luxury apartment in Piazza de’ Satiri, a quiet area between Campo dé Fiori and Piazza Navona, which is ideal for families travelling with children. The same attention to detail has gone into the apartment whose interiors include wooden floors, marble bathroom and design piecees by Philippe Stark, Artemide and Jildé. Paintings are by the famous Sicilian artist Peppe Buttera and other well known Roman artists.

Personal and intimate, Casa Montani and the apartment offer the type of service which is perfect for a luxury city break at an affordable price.

Map & Location

See what they say

Why do people love staying in your hotel? The main reason is the cosiness of a house combined with hotel comforts and the personal attention of the staff. Every guest is unique and special.

What makes your hotel unique? Its uniqueness is connected to the owners' direct management and attention to detail and their guests. A sojourn at Casa Montani is the same as visiting your Roman friends!

What is there to do in the area or on site? The attractions are many, whether you are interested in Art, Entertainment and Galleries or spending a Day out for shopping in the Fashion District. Our location is ideal and is a short walk from highlights such as: Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona, The Pantheon and The Borghese Gallery. If you fancy going for an early morning run the Park of Villa Borghese might be your choice. The art street Via Margutta will amaze you with local fine art and design shops. The area is also known for delightful cafes, restaurants and gelaterias.

How far are you from the nearest airport and do you need to hire a car? The two major airports are Fiumicino and Ciampino at approximately 30km distance. They are very well connected with regular buses and trains. There is no need to hire a car, and we can arrange a pick-up service for the guests upon request.

What kind of breakfast do you offer? We serve a continental breakfast consisting of typical Italian croissants, pastries and baked goods, seasonal fruits, bread, fruit juice, regional Italian cheeses and coffee. It is usually served on a tray and consumed in the privacy of each room.

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? As a guesthouse we only provide breakfast. There is a vast choice for a typical Roman restaurants and cafes in the area, among them we recommend in particular Il Gabriello, Osteria da Pietro and Babette.

Which is your most popular room, and why? The Suite with an amazing view on Porta Flaminia is the most popular and requested room, although many guests prefer our new Junior Suites, charming in décor and design with a street view or looking on to the inner courtyard. Every room is slightly different and has a different appeal to our guests.

Do you accept children and if so what facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms? The owners and the staff love children, we are a family friendly guesthouse. We are happy to arrange a baby cot or to suggest our Junior Suite or Suite to families. Parents could take a romantic night out while a professional babysitter will care for the children.
