A room’s a room and the rooms at COMO Metropolitan, Singapore are spacious, well equipped and super comfortable but this is a city hotel so they are a refuge rather than a home – there’s too much going on outside to keep you in. To start with at the hotel, there’s the jaw-dropping rooftop pool, with a partial glass bottom so you can see the ants below and they can see you swimming about 19 stories up above ! And even if you don’t want to swim, retreat up here to relax on the sun loungers or down a cocktail watching the sun set or the stars twinkle. Also within the hotel is the Shambhala Spa full of relaxing treatments but also a well frequented gym and yoga classroom. You’re in a city and there are things to do and places to go but COMO Metropolitan continues to tempt you to stay with it’s Club 21 designer fashion labels including Jacquemus and Team Wang, Cote Korean steakhouse with it's prime beef cuts and open or intimate dining spaces and the instagrammable Cedric Grolet patisserie which regularly has a queue for breakfast and croissants ! And for those with a little less time try a quick cup of coffee – americano, cappuccino, expresso whatever you want, from the robot barista Bruno, make your choice and the robot arms get to work grinding the coffee, dripping the water and frothing the milk, it’s a wonder to watch and like many sports you’re just waiting for something to go wrong but it doesn’t because it’s a robot. While you are waiting for this bit of magic look at the Thomas Hilland digital art installation, another bit of ever changing magic !
