“This nature lodge is located on the banks of the General Carrera Lake in southern Chile. Guestrooms have Alpine-style wood panelling, cosy throws and countryside views; book a suite for a private fireplace. Sample traditional Chilean cuisine at the hotel restaurant; a charming, back-to-nature lodge.”

My road trip in Patagonia, Chile's wild frontier
The Mirador de Guadal lodge is one of the most beautiful places I’ve been. The cabins are exquisite: individual hand-crafted cypress suites with local artisan furniture and wrap-around decks gazing across the luminous waters of General Carrera Lake. The food is delicious: fresh salmon and ceviche, steak and crème brûlée.
