“The best of Sydney’s five-star gems, this waterfront favourite boasts great food and cocktails, sophisticated rooms and suites, the biggest heated hotel pool in town, fabulous views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, and unbeatable Four Seasons service.”

Hotel review

In sexy Sydney, a harbour view is everything, whether it’s from your kitchen or your ketch. The same applies for hotels and one of the very best in town can be found at the Four Seasons Sydney with its views of the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and the glistening harbour beyond. Following its multi-million dollar re-design (completed at the end of 2019), the smart new interiors and impeccable Four Seasons service offer an unbeatable package.

If money is no object, splash out on one of the suites or a Full Harbour King Club Room, which gives you an incredible panorama including the graceful arc of the bridge and the scallop-shell roof of the Opera House. Shower with Christian Lacroix toiletries, snuggle into a bathrobe, grab a ristretto from the in-room Nespresso machine and settle in for an afternoon gazing at a truly world-class vista. Premier rooms are cheaper (some have partial views of the harbour). The entry-level Deluxe rooms are also excellent. They have cute (if smaller) window seats and offer a range of views, including a full harbour view. The re-design has installed beautiful artworks in these and all other rooms and suites by local painter and sculptor Anna-Wili Highfield.

If you can drag yourself away from your window seat, head to Mode for delicious Australian cuisine with an Italian twist and Grain for unique cocktails or one of more than 200 whiskies. Grain also ages its own rums and makes delicious cocktails from them.

The Four Seasons also boasts the largest outdoor hotel pool in town—a significant draw in swimming-obsessed Sydney. It’s heated too, so you can swim year-round. Next to the pool is a large and well-equipped gym and the Endota Spa, which offers treatments using organic and all-Australian products—they’re especially relaxing and rebalancing after a long flight.

There’s a wealth of things to do in Sydney but the Four Seasons is such a gem and part of the city experience that guests should make time to savour it.
