Saint-Germain-des-Pres has to be one of the most romantic of the Paris arrondissements; with a privileged location on the Seine's left bank, it offers proximity to all the main attractions without being overrun with tourists. It is also home to the beautiful, 11th-century Saint Germain des Pres church and many independent cafés and shops. Hotel Au Manoir occupies a prime spot on Boulevard St Germain, the most important street in the neighbourhood. The hoteliers are well aware of the charm of this location and interiors offer guests a classic Parisian experience, with heavy curtains, antique furniture and elegant linens. Views of the St Germain des Pres Church complete the picture. Breakfast is served in the pretty breakfast room or lounge, naturally lit by a narrow interior patio filled with plants, giving a wall-garden effect. For active holidaymakers, there is even a fitness room so you can get your blood pumping before you set out for a day of sightseeing. There is no restaurant but with a location this central there doesn't need to be; reception staff will happily make dinner reservations for you, with an abundance of excellent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
