Hôtel Chalet Saint-Georges is a classic alpine chalet in the heart of Megève, the former resort of choice for the French aristocracy, as a change from St Moritz! The ski area boasts 445km of ski runs, in the shadow of the omniscient Mont Blanc. The chalet itself has 19 rooms and 5 suites, individually furnished with antiques, handpicked from both France and Austria. Come for cosy interiors with wooden beams, wonderfully warm beds and pleasant colour schemes in the traditional style. Five spacious, sumptuous south facing suites come complete with balconies to enjoy the stunningly dramatic landscape and soak up the sun. Chillax in the lounge after a long day’s ski in a deep armchair by the log fire, or head to the sauna to ease your weary limbs. Head to one of the hotel’s four restaurants, two of which are on site; take your pick from traditional French cuisine (La Table du Trappeur) or seafood (La Table du Pecheur). The other two are up the mountain - perfect for a midday break.
