“Rest and recharge at this stately Nordic hotel and spa. Plenty of attention to detail in the soft interior design of the rooms and suites, with the best offering French doors opening onto a balcony and seaviews. The comprehensive Nordic spa features hot and cold therapies. An ideal spa break”

Hotel review

Originally built as a sanatorium in the 19th century, this sprawling spa hotel retains its purpose and houses impressive wellness facilities, including an extensive gym, fitness and yoga classes, spa treatments, and a Nordic spa experience that rounds off with a dip in the icy cold seawater across the road. It feels like a retreat, rather than just a hotel, but take a seat on the soft sofas in the bar for afternoon tea, or a table in the conservatory at Brasserie Carl for a fine dining dinner, and you’ll be in no doubt that this hotel is indulgent as well as restorative. The whitewashed exterior speaks of the building’s past, while inside rooms are cosy, if a little sparse, and employ the Nordic sleeping method. Join a training session on the front lawn, and then relax by the fire with a glass of something sumptuous from the hefty wine list.
