Hotel review

The bedrooms in this country hotel are exquisite. A harmonious blend of rustic, with stone walls and wooden floors, and Spanish-chic with contemporary four poster beds and taupe and white furnishings. This is echoed throughout the hotel, with a charming little library room, and very homely bar area. It feels more like the country house of some generous friends than a hotel. The pool is a stunning slip of blue amongst the green lawns, and is as peaceful as you would expect. In keeping with the friendly atmosphere, the hotel will loan you bikes to peddle along the hedgerows, and return in time for a sublime supper. Herbs, fruits and vegetables are grown in the gardens, and all meat and fish is sourced locally. The result is mouthwatering: think fisherman's stew and duck cannelloni. A hire car is probably worthwhile to visit the neighbouring sights. Utterly delightful.
