“Locals flock here for brunch, lunch and dinner; tourists scramble for a room. Twenty-one colourfully decorated rooms feature gorgeous upholstery and some, private pools. There are three in-house fine dining options plus plenty more right on your doorstep. A firm Franschhoek favourite.”

Hotel Review

Right on the main thoroughfare of Franschhoek's bustling high street, Le Quartier Francais (or LQF as the staff all call it) is an excellent boutique option. The feeling of a village within itself, each of the 22 rooms is located in a Victorian-style townhouse, surrounding a central outdoor pool. The best are the Garden Suites which offer a bit more room, living areas, and enormous bathrooms. A sumptuous breakfast is served in The Conservatory, but make sure to book a table at La Petite Colombe, one of Cape Town's best restaurants. John Norris Rogers heads a young and enthusiastic team, serving six and twelve-course menus. Marigold restaurant, owned by Le Quartier Francais' Indian owner, Analjit Singh, introduces authentic Punjabi flavours to Cape Town's French quarter. An excellent option, located in what couldn't be a more convenient part of town.
