“Dreamlike 16th century chateau and resort in Lot et Garonne standing bright within beautiful mature parkland. Rooms are boldly styled mixing old and new styles. Boasting two restaurants, a chic bar, carousel, 18-hole mini-golf course and outdoor pool. A quirky take on a rural french stay.”

Hotel review

By the pretty little village of Penne d'Agenais and straddled by a 23 hectare park stands Le Stelsia, a chateau seemingly pulled from the pages of a children's fairytale book. Its walls are painted in the hues of a rainbow and it stands bright, quirky and wildly extravagant against a backdrop of vineyards and rolling green pastures. With over 31 rooms and suites, 2 restaurants and a bar, it is well suited to those looking to feast on the culinary excellence of France. Each uniquely-furnished room is decorated with oil paintings and sculptures, along with chic designer furnishings and furniture fit for a fantasy king. Guests would struggle to find themselves bored in this strange and pleasant land: there is a video games room, comic book library and an on-site carousel. There is a lot for kids to feast their eyes on too: pedal cars can be hired from reception and, for adults, bike rental is possible and there's plenty to explore in this beautiful landscape. After a long day of cycling, guests can while away the hours in the spa, whether it's getting a manicure, pedicure or relaxing in the steam room or sauna. This is a place to escape to, a kingdom in its own right.

Le Stelsia

Nothing for miles around prepares you for the colour-drenched joie de vivre that reigns behind the gates of château Le Stelsia, where four-star luxury meets nature, contemporary art and bling. The full range of activities includes Europe’s largest mini golf course, filled with extraordinary topiary beasts.
