“This former mansion turned hotel enjoys a unique location between the village and the Calanques in Cassis. The property's Art Deco exterior is picked up in the guestrooms, with black and gold accents. The shaded garden and sea view infinity pool are perfect spots to unwind at this seaside hideaway.”

Hotel review

Starting life as a late 19th-century seaside resort, this beautiful Art Deco mansion has had a new lease of life with its renovation into a luxury hotel. Set in a secluded spot on the coast just outside of the village, it is also the perfect spot to explore the famous Calanques' hidden beaches and spectacular landscapes. Guestrooms are elegant in their simplicity; windows overlook the sea or the Mediterranean hotel garden, and many rooms have a small sit-out balcony to appreciate the views. The interior design picks up on the Art Deco style of the original property, with a stylised black and gold headboard frame and wall lights. Book a corner suite for closer proximity to nature, with a panoramic window and a palette inspired by the landscape. The amenities stand-out for a modest-sized hotel, with both an infinity pool and waterfall pool overlooking the coast. Towering pines provide welcome shade in the hotel's lovely gardens, which offer direct sea access. In the evening, head to hotel restaurant Les Belles Canailles for a wonderful Mediterranean repertoire based on organic produce (al fresco dining is, of course, an option). For more active guests, the hotel can help to arrange any number of activities, from excursions to nearby Green Island on a hotel boat to diving and trekking. The friendly concierge can assist with a transfer into town for shopping or eating out, making this a stress-free stay. A beautiful seaside escape, great for a special couples' break.

Les Roches Blanches

The minute I stepped out of the car, I felt like I needed to strap on a pair of handmade Spanish espadrilles and a Panama hat—there's something that feels stylish but effortless about Roches Rouges and, more broadly, St.-Raphaël, and the sensation hit me hard.
