Taveuni, Fiji’s third largest island, is blessed with fecundity. There are divine pineapple fields to stroll through and the famous triple Bourna Waterfalls to climb. Best for explorers and trekkers. The overall vibe is very relaxed and eco-conscious. The staff are friendly but the service is basic. No real frills as such. The lodge has cottages comprising of high-beamed cabin style rooms, dotted around the luscious grounds. The décor boasts a stylish balcony overlooking a pleasant swimming pool - although it could do with some TLC. The food is traditional Fijian using local seafood, fruits and vegetables. Cross the road and the property has its own private beach area - a real bonus. A nourishing and restful spot.
