“Perched on a hill above two small beaches, this former home of a shipping merchant feels boutique, but includes a large swimming pool and everything from single rooms to spacious apartments, some with hot tubs. The restaurant is the real lure, serving dishes inspired by the region. Ideal for couples”

Hotel review

Originally a private dwelling built in 1913, this house on the hill, overlooking Falmouth, retains its homely feel in the form of soft furnishings throughout, a roaring real fire and art and antiques, offering comforting luxury. Rooms range from single occupancy rooms to apartments, one featuring a private hot tub on its wrap-around terrace. Take afternoon tea by the fire in the lounge and in the evening enjoy the taster menu complete with wine pairings. The large swimming pool with integrated hot tub is found next door to the fully equipped gym, which the hotel frames as a ‘gym & swim’ experience, while upstairs treatments take place in the old linen rooms where tranquillity reigns. Just a ten minute walk down the road are two small beaches where you can kayak, paddle board, or just relax on the sands.

Sample added fizz at the old Screw Top

"Set on a hill above the heart of Falmouth, the hotel rises above the bustle. You enter a tall hall that, complete with stained-glass window, retains an air of the genteel living for which the 1913 property was built."
