“Slick, contemporary self-catering pavilions on the Morilla Estate a short ferry ride from Hobart in the grounds of the acclaimed Mona. Festivals, culture courses, with free museum entry, a gym, sauna and heated indoor infinity pool await at this super-stylish escape. ”

Hotel review

Each of these sleek self-catering pavilions is named after a famous Australian artist (Sidney, Brett, Arthur, Charles) or architect (Robin, Esmond, Walter, Roy). All are kitted out with the latest technology, including under floor heating and wireless touch panels controlling room temperature, lighting and entertainment. We recommend a stay with an artist on the banks of the Derwent River as they have a piece of art by their namesake inside. All pavilions have a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities, and are a stone’s throwaway from the world famous Mona (Museum of Old and New Art). There is a sense of total privacy. Fabulous to have the use of a gym, sauna and heated indoor infinity pool with floor to ceiling glass walls. Take full advantage of your free entry to the Mona for the length of your stay, as the stunning collection features pieces from the likes of Damien Hurst and Chris Ofili as well as Sidney Nolan. You can even stream highlights of the collection into your room via the tv. If you’re in to alternative festivals it’s worth planning a stay when MOFO and Dark Mofo are on, innovative celebrations of art, food, drink and live music on the estate.
