Hotel Review
This little gem is a paradise on unspoilt Vis, the farthest inhabited island off the Croatian mainland (it was closed to the public for 30 years making it one of the most beautiful places to visit). Crisp white sheets, fluffy down pillows and towels, organic local bath products and a delicious breakfast makes your stay in one of the nine en-suite rooms at Pomalo exceptional. The largest rooms are light and bright with three windows overlooking the sunny square; the suites have their own separate sitting room with a desk, chair and task lighting. There is one Penthouse Suite with views from every window.
Hop on one of the complimentary bicycles and explore the island, spend a day at Stiniva, arguably Europe’s most beautiful beach, or head out to sea and visit the various caves. Come the evening enjoy a cocktail on the terrace whilst watching the sun go down. Sample local dishes at any number of family owned/run taverns just steps away. Fish buyers from Japan come here for their sushi so you know it's going to be good!
Split is the nearest airport, the ride from SPU to the ferry pier is around 30 minutes. There are two ferries and one catamaran each day from Split to Vis—this changes to four options daily during the high season. Private transfers can be arranged for you at the time of booking. There is an airport transfer bus that you can take to the ferry port—It is 40kn (the equivalent of about €5 each way). Right now all businesses commonly only accept Kuna (changing to the Euro in 2023). Credit cards are fairly widely accepted. Pomalo also have a contact for a private car with an English speaking driver for 200kn. Pomalo is a little slice of heaven where time stands still, a place where you'll yearn to return to once you arrive home.
