An old school elegance gives this hotel the feeling that it has been around for decades yet has only been operating for 16 years. Guests are greeted in the lofty reception area with a jasmine garland, refreshing cold flannel and pomegranate juice before being ushered to one of the characterful bungalows (each with separate entrance) lining the pool. The best rooms back onto the lake where houseboats chug by. The rooms feature well designed jack fruit wood interiors with four-poster ultra comfortable beds (complete with draped mosquito net), attractive desks, trunk-style tables, intricate carved details and quality brass fittings like the elaborate bolt on each door contribute to an appealingly timeless style. Food is served in a separate building and is mouth-wateringly good - mainly local specialities including some European dishes. Guests are given a daily activities timetable offering everything, from a vintage car trip to a sunset cruise.
