Hotel review

This delightfully bohemian hotel is run by the former Egyptologist Diana von Cranach and her charming husband Gusti. If Puri Ganesha was a car it would be a classic yellow convertible Beatle. It is the perfect place to relax whilst wearing flowers in your hair and eating some of the most delicious organic food you could ever hope to taste. The four private one, two and three bedroom thatched villas, each with their own pool, overlook the beach with lawns that run down to the sand. There is a communal dining area where you will be hosted in style by Diana (who is an extraordinary raconteur). Alternatively, all the villas have large inside and outside areas where you will be waited on hand and foot by your own private staff. Incredible snorkelling and diving at nearby Menjangan Island, plus volcano excursions and day trips to Java.
