“This luxury hotel is located in one of the oldest and best-preserved estates in Tuscany, nestled on a hillside outside of Montalcino. Spacious suites are beautifully appointed, with classic Italian design throughout. Soak in spectacular countryside views from the hotel's sleek infinity pool.”

Hotel review

Set on an 800-year-old estate that comprises over 4,000 acres of picturesque Tuscan countryside, this Rosewood hotel is a lesson in Italian elegance and style. From the beautifully appointed private villas to the state-of-the-art spa facilities and private members golf club, everything about this resort reads luxury. Nestled on a hillside outside of Montalcino, the main building and infinity pool overlook the picturesque rolling countryside. The hotel offers 23 guestrooms, of which 20 are suites, in addition to a handful of private villas peppered around the grounds with their own terraces and swimming pools. Villas are incredibly spacious and have wonderful attention to detail, with good facilities for a family stay. Children are well looked after here, with a great kid's club available and babysitting upon request. The hotel doubles as a functioning winery and guests can reserve wine-tasting seminars at one of the hotel's vineyards within the estate or along the coast. For active guests, there are tennis courts, a gym and swimming pool, plus plenty of opportunities within the grounds for cycling and walking. Other less common, family-friendly activities include landscape painting, led by an artist-instructor and held outside in the verdant grounds. As you would expect, there are no shortage of dining options at this resort. From al fresco terrace dinners to poolside snacks, there is a restaurant or bar to meet every whim. For real fanatics of Italian gastronomy, there is even a cooking course available at La Canonica cooking school, located in the former priest’s house in the heart of the Borgo. With an endless list of activities on offer and an unbeatable setting in the heart of Tuscany, this resort stands head and shoulders above the rest in this region.
