“On the edge of bustling and picture postcard Salcombe this stunning newly refurbished boutique hotel has everything one could wish for. Magnificently situated, overlooking the estuary with its sailing boats, sandy beaches and a short walk into town. Wonderful terraces, spa and pool, cinema. Bliss”

Hotel review

For families, grandparents, singles or a romantic break away, there's something to please everyone here. This is the place to chill and unwind with gorgeous self-indulgent beauty treatments, indoor swimming pool and luxurious spa. Or for the active and sporty minded there's plenty on offer, from sailing to kayaking, to golf and walking. Bucket and spade for children on the sandy beaches, and the chef will pack a picnic lunch for the day. Right on the edge of the village, the pretty quay and charming shops and pubs of Salcombe are just a hop, skip and jump away. Expect the freshest fish, and an ever changing menu. Guests can even go out fishing with the chef and catch their dinner. Perhaps best of all is just sit on the terrace and watch the world drift by.

See what they say

Why do people love staying in your hotel? Our recent multi-million pound refurbishment has created a chic new luxury spa hotel on the edge of Salcombe Estuary, complete with a coastal retreat spa, private cinema and waterside restaurant with wide outdoor terraces; all taking in the panoramic vista, overlooking one of the most dramatic coastlines in the UK. What is there to do in the area? Tucked on the banks of a tranquil Devonshire estuary, Salcombe is the perfect escape all year round. This idyllic coastal town in the most southerly part of Devon is surrounded by picturesque villages, impressive coastal scenery, Blue Flag beaches, and all within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Explore the narrow winding streets of Salcombe, with its many chic boutiques, or head to the hills for a relaxing coastal walk, equipped with a Jetty picnic. Not forgetting water-based activities like yachting, paddle-boarding, shipwreck diving and surfing… What kind of breakfast do you offer? We offer a variety of cooked to order breakfasts, to include a locally sourced Full English, alongside croissants, fresh fruit, juices, yoghurt and a continental spread. Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? The hotel’s Jetty restaurant takes full advantage of its estuary location, with menus created by award winning Chef Alex Aitken and top local chefs delivering fresh and seasonal dishes. Unique to The Jetty is the restaurant’s Crustacean Bar, with the day’s fresh catch to choose from. With numerous outdoor terraces, enjoy al fresco dining at its most spectacular. Salcombe boasts a selection of great restaurants to choose from – for family friendly we would recommend The Winking Prawn over on North Sands Beach and for a great coastal pub just a short stroll away, the Victoria Inn. Which are your most popular room types, and why? Most of our 50 bedrooms feature spectacular estuary views, many with private balconies. Our ‘Best Estuary View’ bedrooms are very popular for obvious reason – they’re our best! The wide, spacious rooms feature a roll top bath, comfortable seating and large sliding glass doors, opening out onto a full length private terrace overlooking the water. Complete with sun loungers and outdoor seating, the balcony can be enjoyed all year round – we even provide balcony baskets, to include blankets, books and binoculars! What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ? Our hotel features its own private cinema, with four screenings a day and complimentary popcorn! Our family rooms are designed with comfort and space in mind – sleeping families of up to four people, the suite features a double sofa-bed and there are multiple interconnecting bedrooms available, each with their own bathroom. What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? If you are looking for a relaxed coastal escape, perfectly combining the great outdoors and fresh sea air, with luxurious facilities, fresh food and exceptional views; this is the hotel for you.
