“Historic luxury hotel overlooking the fabulous Trieste bay. With magnificent halls, stairwells, courts and sumptuous furnishings harking back to its Belle Epoque heyday. Rooms are unfussy, modern and elegant with some featuring beautiful balconies; and there's an unmissable Italian restaurant too.”

A grand old hotel in keeping with this rather grand port city, the Savoia Excelsior Palace is popular with wealthy foreign travellers and Italians on business. Spruced up throughout but retaining original features, its Savoy restaurant serves superlative Italian food.
