You can see why they coined the word Arcadian from this region. Smyros Resort is firmly off the beaten track, it's an area of craggy beaches, verdant hills and baking sun, with a sleepy, laid back atmosphere that is deeply relaxing. This resort is a favourite of cash strapped Greeks with style, and it's an idyllic & romantic spot. The slightly austere yet simple stone architecture follows a traditional style, and is complemented by spotless and very comfortable rooms. The price is a steal. No beach, but you swim from rocks, reaching out into a crystal blue sea. For a reminder of that older, simpler, hospitable Greece, book in.
