When recommending a hotel these days, one of the main criteria would have to be how comfy are the beds? Well the Augustin ticks all the right boxes in that department, large beds fitted with sink-into mattress toppers provide the ideal base in the centre of Brussels, whether you’re here on business or for a city break. A classic townhouse conversion, the bedrooms at The Augustin have been recently renovated and the new interiors complement the traditional exteriors with their contemporary style. The common areas (reception and bar) are stylish and chic with unusual light fittings, attractive artworks and squashy sofas and chairs – a great spot for a quick pre-dinner drink, or relaxing with a coffee or tea after a day's sightseeing. Rooms are very light and spacious and as noted have fab beds. Bathrooms have everything you expect and need in a modern hotel. There is no restaurant here (but a continental breakfast is served), but serious foodies might like to note that one of Brussels’ finest establishments (two Michelin starred Comme chez soi) is literally just around the corner. Staff are friendly and helpful and more than happy to provide advice from where are the best sights, to where you should dine out. A great choice that won’t break the bank, for any visitor to Brussels whether here for business or leisure.
