What is there to do in the area? The area has many popular pursuits one being the hike up Ben Nevis (Britain's highest mountain) or a trip on the Jacobite steam train now known as the Harry Potter train which travels the west highland line to Mallaig, reputed to be one of Europe's most scenic train journeys. A trip to the isle of Skye by road is possible in a day from Fort William as is the isle of Mull or a boat trip to isle of Eigg or Rum to spot some whales on the way Fort William also boasts the world Mountain championships and has one of the finest courses climbing Anoch Mhor by cable car and returning by bike, if not for the faint hearted a return by cable car. What kind of breakfast do you offer? Breakast at the Grange ranges from homemade prune and apricot compote, full english, smoked haddock cooked in a light cream sauce served on a warm potato pancake to scotch pancakes, fruit platters all served with warm home made bread. Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We do not serve dinner, however, we are a short walk to the Crannog Seafood Restaurant, or short drive to some others, including the world famous Inverlochy Castle. Which are your most popular room types, and why? Our superior rooms are the most popular due to the size being larger than our standard however all have loch views.
