Where to stay in Death Valley

The Oasis appears like a mirage in the desert. Some 200 miles north of Los Angeles, across desolate plains of red rock and dust, suddenly, as if conjured up by an illusionist’s trick, appear palm trees, fountains and a swimming pool of all decadent things. I am in one of the hottest, driest and most inhospitable places on Earth. But thanks to a new luxury hotel, the Inn at the Oasis Death Valley, which opened last year in the heart of the national park, I'm not suffering at all.
