Hotel Review

An historical building boasting a fantastic location near Washington Square in Greenwich Village. Its bohemian past (it played host to the likes of Warhol and Kerouac) can be felt with an atmospheric mix of old school New York style and contemporary design. Rooms are small but perfectly formed with rich polished parquet floors, corniced walls, feature spider light fittings and a mini bar complete with champagne and Brooklyn made moonshine. For those looking to splurge the rooftop suites offer more space and large terraces with fabulous city views. The oak-paneled cocktail bar has a lively, young feel and serves up exemplary concoctions. Dining is an equally pleasant experience; think European fare alongside American classics. A true downtown New York experience.

Narrow hallways with Persian runners led to my compact but gorgeous Queen Room, the least expensive option, on the sixth floor.

The Marlton: Hotel Review

While in its previous life it was a slightly run-down single-person-occupancy block, the Marlton is now anything but shabby.
