With views out over a pristine private beach to the island of Elba, this is a seaside gem for some downtime after visiting Tuscany’s big attractions. Hidden among a verdant canopy of pine trees, the low-rise Sense Experience is a tranquil and relaxing spot. It was once a fifties holiday camp but you wouldn’t know it. The buildings are white washed, there’s an outdoor bar, and cool low-rise seating dotted through the grounds. Bedrooms are calm spaces in pale woods, the best rooms have sea views – which you can also enjoy through the glass wall in the bathrooms. Food-wise, you are spoiled, from fine dining at Eaté to Tuscan classics at Dimorà. There are plenty of nice touches such as free bike hire, and the new sunset and dawn trails where you can admire a variety of native plants, with species chosen for their low water requirements – part of the hotel’s focus on sustainable practices.

Why do people love staying in your hotel?
The Sense Experience Resort is the perfect place to relax in the typical Italian vacation, a cabana on our private beach sipping a the sense spritz or a dip in the pool in the afternoon, a walk in our 5-hectare park, an exclusive dinner in one of our private dunes overlooking the sea. But it's also the perfect place to set out to discover the most beautiful region in the world, including cities of art, wineries with the world's best red wines, cycling, horseback riding or hiking, and boat tours to discover Italy's most beautiful beaches.
What is there to do in the area?
Unspoiled nature dominates the long coastline of the Etruscan Coast. The wind blowing in from the Tyrrhenian Sea brings with it the history of the by-gone days of these places and a brisk sea breeze. The white beaches between Rosignano Solvay and Vada emerge like a candid oasis amidst the green of the wild Mediterranean scrubland. The Val di Cornia Park, an extensive area of rare beauty, is home to various places of archaeological and naturalistic interest. Populonia, one of the most important Etruscan-Roman cities and the magnificent Gulf of Baratti, tell the story of the people who settled there. Further inland, medieval towns perched on the rolling hills, dominate this area from above. Suvereto, in the heart of Maremma Livornese, is renowned as one of the most beautiful towns in Italy. Sassetta is a small village surrounded by woods with a hidden treasure: thermal and therapeutic waters bubble up at 50°, rich in trace elements and minerals. The famous Bolgheri cypress trees inspired the words of the poet, Giosuè Carducci in “Davanti a San Guido”.
Maremma today showcases all its unspoiled nature with strong contrasts and amazing, fascinating colours. Its protected areas, of which the most important are the Bandite di Scarlino Nature Reserve, Montioni forest, Sterpaia Park and the magnificent Maremma Park, have virtually remained unchanged over time, protecting incredible places which you can explore on horseback, in a carriage or a canoe, along the Ombrone River, for example. The medieval towns are the jewels in the crown of time, the fascinating encounter between tradition and the local food and wine. Then, there is the sea with the most beautiful beaches in Italy, Cala Violina, in particular.
There are peaceful, quiet paths dating back to Etruscan times to explore on foot or by bike where time slows down allowing you to enjoy these special moments to the full. We are in Tuscany, of course. Wine is taken very seriously here and the amazing cellars of Rocca di Frassinello and Petra are a fine example of this, avant-garde architectural wonders as well as ambassadors of age-traditions and taste.
What kind of breakfast do you offer?
We offer an international breakfast, with a large buffet to meet all needs from American breakfast, to Healty & Detox, Tuscan products, centrifuge area. To complement the gentle sound of the sea breeze.
Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally?
At The Sense Experience Resort there is All Day Dining, a beach club with a regional and international offering of sandwiches, salads, centrifuges, Italian entrees, and pizza. A central restaurant with a high-end proposal of the best selection of raw materials and dishes from our region, and a unique restaurant directly on the beach, fine dining, with a gourmet restaurant proposal. The Tuscan Maremma is a region to be discovered in terms of typical food and wine; we recommend that our guests go to Castiglion della Pescaia or Follonica to eat excellent fish specialties and in the hilly hinterland, Massa Marittima, to try typical regional dishes.
Which are your most popular room types, and why?
Our best suites are the One Bedroom Suites Sea View. The placement of these suites and just a few meters from our inclusive and private beach. The room has 3 balconies for breathtaking views and a standing tub for relaxing at sunset while admiring the spectacle of Elba Island. Not less however also our Two Bedroom Suite Sea front with private garden and Jacuzzi, luxury and comfort for a memorable stay.
What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ?

At our resort you can enjoy free sup, kayaks and enjoy a selection of over 100 experiences to enjoy our amazing area, including horseback riding, island boat rides and water sports.
