“Countryside chic riverside hotel on the Thames. Historic exterior has been jazzed up to feel of the moment. Cool and contemporary with an excellent restaurant, bar, and wellness facilities. All very reminiscent of “Three Men in a Boat”. It’s where to be fully engaged with riverlife”

Hotel review

Here at The Swan at Streatley, it’s all about the positioning. It’s set in quintessential English countryside, near Reading and Oxford. Pleasure boats and rowers frequent the water while ramblers stroll along the towpaths. The hotel places a great emphasis on offering things to do. There’s a gym, a sauna and a steam room, an outdoor cinema, boat trips and paddleboarding. Coppa Club, of which The Swan is one of a brand, is “where one is encouraged to “stay all day”. Its restaurant is set right over the water. The bar, café, events rooms are part of an eclectic array of different open-planned areas for working, eating, reading and chatting. All very fresh, chic and cosy.

Of the rooms in ascending order of grandeur there are medium and large doubles: some with balconies and all with glorious river views. The Biggy River Suites each come with their own balcony and, as for others, you can step straight out onto your own private lawn beside the river. The contemporary signature textile chairs and wooden headboards are in keeping with the hotel’s neutral colours and uber-cool simplicity. The rooms have retro touches with dial phones and Roberts radios. The bathrooms have rain showers, metro tiles and Natural Spa Factory products.
