A huge stone hearth dominates the lounge/bar/reception area at this countrified inn in a tiny village overlooking the unique, sub-tropical world of the Dalyan delta. The fleshpots of Dalyan (where you’ll probably want to dine more than once if staying at Villa Gokbel for several nights) are less than 15 minutes drive away. Superb Iztuzu beach (one of the best in Turkey) is even closer, though if you feel too relaxed to budge, Villa Gokbel has its own pool with a million-dollar view of the lagoon below. Bedrooms are all different, and full of character, and the dinner menu is good though not extensive. There’s a pleasant bar where you can chat with other guests.
