Set on a hill high above the Nive, Villa La Renaissance makes a wonderfully tranquil place to while away time on the Côte Basque (and the old town of Bayonne, home of the famous jambon and the place where bayonets were first made is well worth inspection). The elegant, recently converted house dates back to 1905 and now offers 10 bedrooms decorated in bold, warm colours and classic-contemporary style. In fine weather, breakfast can be taken on the Italian style terrace which gives on to secluded and well-kept gardens: peace and quiet assured.
