“Ideally located gem in the old town, with pretty, traditional bedrooms. Chintz wallpaper, large sash windows and some with small balconies give a wonderfully 'french chic' air. Breakfasts served in the garden. Access to a private beach. A well priced city base.”

Hotel review

A charming small hotel in a great location, close to the water as well as to the vieille ville. Dressed in French style, the individually decorated rooms come in three categories: those on the lower ground floor, with small windows, are obviously the cheapest but sweet, neat and clean; there are also traditional rooms (some with balconies) and superior spacious rooms, also with balconies. Most rooms have pleasant views of the garden and are surprisingly quiet at night. Access to the private beach is a great bonus.

Hotel Villa Rivoli

Tucked a few blocks back from the sea in Nice’s Quartier des Musiciens, this flower-filled, 24-room hotel overseen by German owner, Barbara Kimmig, exudes a civilised and welcoming atmosphere. There’s no restaurant, but plenty on the doorstep, and breakfast is served the garden on fine days.
