“A design hotel floating on the Luleå River, and built around a central plunge pool. With a full suite of spa facilities, an exquisite seasonal restaurant and cosy bar, it's a haven of relaxation. Built to resemble a river log jam, it's an unforgettable experience beneath the Northern Lights. ”

Hotel review

In the heart of Swedish Lapland, Arctic Bath emerges as a sanctuary for the senses, offering a blend of design and immersive natural experiences.

The hotel's unique structure, floating on or frozen into the Luleå River, captivates with its innovative 'frosty-donut' architecture, a testament to creators Bertil Harström and Johan Kauppi's vision of integrating seamlessly with the surrounding wilderness. Each of the wooden cabins, whether perched near the river's edge or nestled within the forest, exudes a minimalist elegance with interiors of pale pine and Baltic limestone. The culinary journey here is a highlight, with the restaurant helmed by chefs Maarten De Wilde and Kristoffer Åström, "the Sámi chef", who meticulously craft dishes that are a tribute to the local Sámi culture. The five-course dinner, featuring smoked wood grouse, cured trout, and slow-cooked reindeer, is a profound expression of Arctic flavours, best enjoyed with a selection from the craft beer and wine offerings.

Beyond the indulgence of its spa and wellness centre, with its cold baths and saunas, Arctic Bath encourages guests to engage with the landscape - be it through a refreshing plunge in the river, forest-bathing, or ice-skating.
