Set in the genteel, upmarket 16th Arrondissement, Brach is a seriously cool 5 star design hotel that seems slightly incongruous, almost too cool for school for this part of town. But don’t let that put you off! The building actually dates back to the 1930s, though back in the ‘70s it operated as a huge postal sorting office. Philipped Starck was brought in to work his magic, and what you now see is a fabulous green plant-clad 52 room property filled with an eclectic range of objets and works of art with influences from South America, Africa and Asia. The rooms are done in subtle warm shades and filled with tactile materials such as wood and leather and all benefit from floor to ceiling windows (don’t worry there are black out blinds as standard). Beds are huge and super comfy (adorned with Brach branded high quality bed linens) and the bathrooms are as indulgent as you’d expect from this standard of hotel: huge soaking tubs, walk in showers and his and hers marble sinks. All rooms are furnished in the same eclectic style as the common areas and tables and chairs have a slightly african bush vibe about them. You’ll also find a selection of carefully chosen books, should you wish to sit and while away the hours with a new high brow tome! There are seven suites occupying the top two floors of the property which will really blow your mind. All come with private terrace and outdoor cedar hot tub. Some even boast Eiffel Tower views. They are simply stunning and well worth it if your budget will stretch that far! Food wise the restaurant focuses on Mediterranean flavours, plus there’s an outdoor heated terrace where you’ll find an Asian vibe. Breakfast is served in the main restaurant and will furnish you with all the French classics. It’s always a good sign when it’s as full of locals and ladies who breakfast as hotel residents! Whilst some might feel this location is slightly too far out, we’d beg to differ; it’s only 15 minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower and closer still is the Fondation Louis Vuitton and the Palais de Tokyo. For those who enjoy their green spaces, the Bois de Boulogne is very close by and it’s ideally located for anyone heading to Roland Garros. Brach wins on so many levels; it’s super chic, the food’s great, and above all the rooms don’t just look amazing they are fantastic places to stay!

This hotel in the 16th arrondissement offers a modern take on luxury combined with a strong design slant. Under the auspices of Philippe Starck, a former 1970s sorting house has been transformed into a multi-level maze of Instagram-friendly spaces, including a relaxed restaurant and huge subterranean gym.
