Hotel review

Chapwani Private Island is located a fifteen minute boat ride from Stone Town. The island itself is tiny, yet boasts a great range of flora and fauna including the very rare giant crabs and a fabulous display of starfish on the coral reef at low tide. Chapwani prides itself on its eco credentials: hot water is solar powered, the swimming pool is filled with sea water and many of the fruit, vegetables and eggs on the menu are home grown. Accommodation is simple yet stylish. Each of the eleven thatched eco lodges offers two bedrooms and bathrooms and all look straight out to the ocean. Food is delicious, with the freshest seafood on offer. Prices quoted are on a half board basis.
