Hotel Review

Luxury épicerie fine brand Fauchon deliver a boutique hotel, and it is everything you would expect: contemporary, sleek, flirty and a little bit decadent. Tucked away behind two beautiful Haussmann buildings with intricate relief facades, the hotel has an unbeatable location in the 8th arrondissement, within easy walking distance of The Louvre, Place de Concorde and a smattering of designer boutiques on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. The devil is in the detail in the hotel's designer interiors; conceived of by the celebrated Richard Martinet, the bright and spacious guestrooms are dressed in custom-made furniture with contrasting textures. Complimentary Fauchon macarons and the brand's signature magenta, black and white are threaded through the suites; book the top floor rooms for a romantic Juliette balcony and sloping mansard ceiling. A customised gourmet bar in each room offers more complimentary Fauchon edibles: buttery salt caramels, fruit jellies, chocolate truffles and - of course - champagne. Head to the hotel's gourmet Le Grand Café for Glam’Hours, a VIP take on happy hour where fine wines are paired with Fauchon delicacies. For dinner, sample a range of tasting plates, froom Quercy roast lamb to seabass ceviche. For guests who prioritise the relaxation experience, don't miss the hotel's subterranean spa by Carita, which boasts a steam room and hammam. If there is anything you can think of that the hoteliers haven't covered here, ask at reception and it is highly likely they can arrange it for you. A stylish Parisian bolt-hole.
