A short stroll from Covent Garden, it’s possible to overlook the discreet entrance to the Henrietta Hotel, a charming boutique tucked down a quiet side street. For an urban hotel this scores high in the location, style, comfort stakes. Opened in Spring 2017, the interior of the 18-bedroom townhouse has an Art Deco feel - stylised brass lighting, beveled mirrors, distinctive lettering, black and white flooring and marble bathrooms - alongside bold Seventies punctuations such as retro arm chairs. Rooms are not only quiet but extremely comfortable with sumptuous beds - noteworthy mattresses, pillows and bedding that would perk up Morpheus. An appealingly snug bar serving innovative cocktails leads into a cosy, romantic two-tiered restaurant beyond which is an open kitchen where chefs are seen preparing food. The menu is contemporary and imaginative and caters for discerning tastes alongside offering delicious classics - the crunchiest fries (made with Polish potatoes), melt-in-the-mouth madeleines and hay-smoked fudge.
