You could be forgiven for walking passed Hotel Bergen Bors and thinking it was a bank, for you'd be exactly right. Built in 1862 as a stock exchange, modern renovations have seen this financial house turn into a superb modern hotel. In typically Norwegian style, the new design is simple and elegant with comfortable, minimalist rooms that offer views out over Bergen. Downstairs, guests can start the evening with a cocktail before heading out to explore the sights and lights of Bergen. Alternatively, you can stay in and enjoy delicious seafood specialities in the hotel's atmospheric restaurant. Not bad for a bank.
