Hotel review

This ivy fronted B&B is as charming on the inside as on the out. 23 very romantic bedrooms. The best two on the top floor, have a royal sense about them - frescoes decorate the ceiling, rich taffeta fabrics drape four poster beds, the wallpapers are chinked in gold and the floors are immaculately polished. Private terraces and the roof top offer incredible views over Rome. It's all very romantic and lustrous.

In a city where many boutique hotels have gone so contemporary that you feel as if you could be anywhere from New York to Singapore, the unapologetic Old World romance of Hotel Campo de' Fiori is a standout. An ivy-covered façade, Pompeii-red walls, canopy beds, tufted velvet galore – this is Rome at its most classic.
