The most stunning feature of this Medieval building is the oak staircase, fashioned 700 years ago from a single tree. It remains standing, where the rest of the hotel has been carefully renovated. Coats of arms, chandeliers, gold mirrors and velvet armchairs populate the rest of the hotel, and the bedrooms are gothic yet charming. There is a lovely courtyard to enjoy an afternoon drink, or a cosy library to plan your next day trip. A hire car is probably worthwhile to explore the region's sights. After stepping through the arched doorway, allow the romance of this charming hotel to do the rest.
