Hotel Review

This tangerine-colored Bauhaus building, situated smack-bang in Tel Aviv’s centre, merges a historic past with its status today as a design-led boutique bolthole. Step through the Hotel Montefiore’s front door and into a bustling bar and restaurant packed with the city’s coolest creatives. Grab a menu and perch yourself along the long, curving bar – the food is a sophisticated fusion of French and Vietnamese cuisine, changes weekly and relies upon local ingredients. The first and second floors house only 12 bedrooms, each one oozing style. From the floor-to-ceiling library in each room (boasting an eclectic mix of travel books, high-brow literature and trashy beach reads) to the breezy white curtains and leather armchair, these are bedrooms that beg for lazy mornings. Top tip: book a room with a balcony to enjoy an al fresco breakfast.
