In the shadow of the Alps lies the Hotel Ochsen, a paradise for lovers of nature eager to escape the monotony of day-to-day life. Perched amongst pine trees and gurgling rivers, gigantic waterfalls and snow-smothered mountainsides, this is certainly a place where a person could find peace-of-mind, and this stylish 4-star hotel does just that. The enormous wellness centre comes to mind, with a free-to-use sauna and a range of massage and therapeutic treatments on offer, as well as having a heated indoor swimming pool that can be used all round the year. The restaurant, serving traditional Bavarian cuisine as well as international dishes, is a recipient of a Michelin star. Enjoy a drink out on the terrace, watching the mountains fade into the bright apricot dusk, or walk around the spacious green garden. Nature lovers, take notice, for this is only 2 miles from the sublime Triberg Waterfalls and less than 1 mile from several ski lifts - a perfect opportunity to see the dramatic Alpine valleys sweep below your feet. While much of the hotel is ineffectually rustic-looking, with wooden beams and roaring fireplaces, the rooms are bright, spacious and modern.
