Hotel Review
Cool and contemporary, Jetwing Colombo Seven is a superb base for a city break. Set in Colombo's most exclusive residential neighbourhood, the hotel is within walking distance of boutiques, galleries, cafés and eateries aplenty, as well as key landmarks such as the imposing Town Hall and leafy Viharamaha Devi Park.
Interiors are stylish, with artist Prageeth Manohansa's scrap metal sculptures of plants and trees adding a quirky sense of character, and the team are friendly and welcoming. Kick back in rooms with expansive city views from floor-to-ceiling windows, big beds and swish modern bathrooms; the best have free-standing tubs. If you're planning to stay longer, book a smart studio or two-bedroom apartment with a well-equipped kitchen.
Although the property sits on a relatively compact footprint, spaces feel private and the hotel boasts a spa, gym and meeting rooms as well as two restaurants. Enjoy generous buffet breakfasts at bright and airy Restaurant 57, or head up to the rooftop bar for dazzling city views. Day or night, this was our absolute favourite spot. Sink into the infinity pool, gazing down at the treetops and red-tiled roofs of Colombo 7's residences, or pull up a seat at the 57 bar to savour craft cocktails or a glass of wine. Rooftop sunsets are not to be missed!
