Perched beside a lake, the Gustrower Inselsee, stands the Kurhaus am Inselsee. A 4-star hotel dripping in elegance, it offers rooms and suites with balconies that allow for gorgeous lakeside views and are decorated in a light, bright decor. They are strewn with lovely antique furniture, oil paintings and some modern artworks. Ideal for weddings and business meetings, they have five multimedia-equipped meeting and banquet rooms that can hold up to 190 people. There are two restaurants, one of which serves down-to-earth regional cuisine and doubles up as a piano bar in the evenings while also boasting a supreme variety of selected wines and freshly-made cakes that are the envy of the area. The beach-house restaurant has more Mediterranean-inspired cuisine: oven-baked pizzas and big, simple steaks. For those wishing to gently cruise along the banks of the lake, boats can be rented out nearby, while bikes can be rented too for those wishing to explore the wooded countryside surrounding the hotel. The spa has a sauna and a heated indoor swimming pool. The hotel organises a variety of events throughout the year, including salsa classes followed by a dance in the evening and whiskey tasting at the bar. All in all, this is a haven of tranquillity, perfect for those looking for respite, good food and rural charm.
