“A contemporary hotel set in Brighton's equally modern marina. Malmaison, Brighton is undeniably cool with bold patterns, sharp lines and plenty of glass offering wonderful sea views. Nice touches in the room include fine cotton sheets, Lavazza coffee-makers and minimalist bathrooms. A smart choice. ”

Hotel Review

Located overlooking Brighton’s marina (the largest in the UK), the hotel is wedged in among various corporate food joints. It’s not in the centre of town rather more adrift in this bustling (somewhat unappealing) man-made enclave, however, unlike many Brighton hotels, it doesn’t have a two-night stay policy so ideal for an overnighter. A 15 minute bus ride will take you into the city centre or a quick spin on one of the bikes available to rent at local designated spots is a nice way to travel parallel to the beach. The hotel has a buzzy atmosphere and is very much geared towards a young, 30-something crowd with its trendy, contemporary design interior. Retro pop art jumps out from the walls and crushed velvet furnishings - banquettes, sofas and chairs -make for a bold statement in the Mal Bar and Chez Mal brasserie. Rooms are well insulated with blackout blinds, have notably sublimely-comfortable beds thanks to the generous toppers and all the accoutrements of an upbeat modern hotel.

Malmaison, Brighton

A good option if you don’t fancy Brighton’s somewhat noisy town centre is this marina-based hotel, offering a good number of contemporary sea-facing rooms with balconies and terraces. It has a buzzy bar and large restaurant, both with terraces, and interconnecting rooms for families.
