“A characterful and good value hotel offers a range of rooms, in a Neo-Gothic monastery. Multiple beds in some rooms as well as a number of awe inducing venue halls set in the old church, make this an ideal choice for groups or families. Well positioned near the historic centre.”

Hotel Review
On an unremarkable street close to the historic city centre, PoortAkere describes itself as a hotel/guesthouse and offers a fantastic range of rooms of various sizes and prices, all quirkily converted within a former monastery, parts of which date back to the 13th century. Of the different parts that now have guest rooms, the Slot, once the nuns’ sleeping quarters, has some of the most comfortable. The former Chaplain house contains more basic accommodation, which is reflected in the room prices; breakfast is not included. The hotel runs special offers for children under 15, and on-site parking spaces are available for an extra charge, but cannot be reserved in advance.
