“Number One Bruton in Somerset opened its doors with twelve boutique hotel rooms and a farm-to-table restaurant Osip in collaboration with Michelin star chef Merlin Labron-Johnson. Charming rooms with pretty wallpaper and tiled en-suite bathrooms make for the perfect country escape in rural Somerset.”

Hotel review

Bruton is in the heart of rural Somerset is one of county’s local centres of creativity and it’s also a great town for exploring with its many alleys and closely knitted together streets. The name refers to the River Brue, which often flooded the town.

Number One Bruton has opened right on the charming high street and is giving the popular boutique hotel, The Chapel, a run for its money. Expect pretty wall-papered rooms, velvet chairs and antiques. The en-suite bathrooms have been done in a charming, country house style. Merlin Labron-Johnson has teamed up with Number One Bruton to create Osip, a tiny farm-to-table restaurant. As well as working on their own orchards and kitchen garden, the team works with local farmers, hunters and gatherers to create a menu that reflects Somerset's traditions and heritage. A great spot for Glastonbury, art-lovers and foodies.
