Our favourite Oxford hotel (though we can also recommend its sister, Old Bank), this ancient, characterful, wistaria-clad house has recently had a total facelift, including superb new beds. Its panache remains: a venerable door leads into the welcoming bar/restaurant (good food) with log fire; there's a pretty roof terrace; bikes are available.

What is there to do in the area? Numerous colleges are close by as well as the Pitt River’s museum & the famous Ashmolean museum of Art & Archaeology. Take in a show at Oxford Playhouse. Go punting along the River Cherwell or venture further on a walking trail to the picturesque Port Meadow. What kind of breakfast do you offer? All breakfast items are ordered with our attentive restaurant waiting team and delivered fresh to your table from the kitchen. Alternatively we have a room service menu should you wish to take breakfast in your hotel room. Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? Yes. The Parsonage Grill’s All Day Menu is served from 12 noon until 11pm, the Set Lunch & Theatre Menu can be ordered between 12noon and 6pm Monday to Friday, and Afternoon Tea is available 3 until 5.30pm daily. Alternatively our sister property, Gee’s Restaurant & Bar, is a very short walk down the road and Quod Restaurant & Bar is a brief trip across the City Centre. Which are your most popular room types, and why? The Suite, a serene & lustrous room tucked away on the second floor, the luxurious free standing bath takes centre stage in the marble bathroom. What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ? Children’s books & board games are available in the resident’s library as well as a children’s menu in the Parsonage Grill. We have 24 hour room service, babysitting services and complimentary cots for children up to 2 years of age. "Through a pretty courtyard with large umbrellas for summer dining, and the original front door believed to date from 1660, you reach the reception hall, with original stone hearth and crackling fire."
