At just 2,000 inhabitants, San Clemente is a sleepy seaside village in Ecuador's coastal province of Manabi. This charming stretch of the shore plays host to sandy beaches with a hot, dry climate - perfect for a beach getaway. At half an hour's drive from the city of Bahias, it is easy to reach and well-connected. Nestled on a stretch of plush private beach is Palmazul, a design hotel and spa with a luxury finish. The quaint, three-storey property hosts just 16 guestrooms, making it a boutique stay with lots of personalised attention. Interiors are simple and elegant, featuring four-poster beds with white drapes and cosy soft furnishings. Most rooms offer a balcony overlooking the pool; book an ocean suite for multiple bedrooms and a sea view.
